The Birthday Book

for all children grow up

What the heck is The Birthday Book? is probalby what's running through your head right now, correct? Well, this section will explain everything about the book, the rules, what to submit, what not to submit, and how to submit.

About

the premise behind the book

The Birthday Book is an idea that I came up with when I was creating this site. I was trying to think of idea's t hat would make this site unique, interactive, and most of all, make people want to return. The premise is simple: create a scrapbook full of memories, photos and graphics for Jeremy on his birthday from his fans. The product: hopefully will be a fabulous book from his fans that Jeremy will cherish and remember for many years to come.

Here are the basics of it. If you are a fan of Jeremy and/or Peter, you can submit something and if it is approved by me, I will plan for it to be in The Birthday Book. Jeremy's birthday is in February, so around November/December I will gather all of the submission's, print them out and put them into a scrapbook. At the end of January I will send it to Jeremy via his fan mail address along with a letter signed from the visitors to this site explaining to him the purpose of the book.

So, if you want to be a part of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to show Jeremy how much you appreciate him and his performance in Peter Pan, read the rules below and figure out what you would like to submit!

Rules

discipline!

Rating
Entries must be PG-rated. Please, nothing inappropriate.

Spelling
Entries must be spell-checked. I will read through them of course, but please spell-check them yourself first.

Slang
Absolutely no internet slang. This includes things like: u, r, gr8, lol, rofl, and basically anything that isn't normal English. Write this like you would write a paper for school.

Langauge
Only English entries please, I'm not sure if Jeremy speaks any other languages.

Deadline
The deadline for submissions is November 1st, 2006. Anything after this, I can't guarantee that it will be added because I probably will have started laying out the book already.

What to Submit

you are a codfish

There are a lot of things you could submit. These are just a few ideas for you, if you come up with something else, that's absolutely fine.

Letter
The most obvious thing you could send, is a letter. I would advise that even if you want to send something else, that you send a little note/letter with it too, but it's up to you.

Photograph
If you have a picture of yourself with Jeremy, send a copy of it on over. You can also submit a picture of just yourself, and I will include it in with the rest of your submission.

Graphics
If you are good a computer graphics, you could make him a graphic on the computer. Sort of like a fan-sign or something like that, but for Jeremy.

Memorabilia
If you have anything physical you would like to send in, such as a handwritten letter or artwork, please let me know in the submission form below so I can provide you with an address.

Other
Anything else you can think of, go ahead and submit it! It's always worth a try, and will probably be included as long as it is in good taste and I'm able to put it in a scrapbook.

Submission Guidelines

it's only makebelieve, isn't it?

Apart from following the rules above, please follow these guidelines for submission.

If you would like to format your own letter (i.e. choosing your own font, color, etc.), you can send it to me as an Microsoft Word document. If you don't have Microsoft Word, you can send your letter in with a description of how you would like it to look. Otherwise, I will format all the letters so they fit together with the overall look of the book.

Please include everything in your form, including your email address and website (if you have one). I will include all email addresses of fans in with their letters, as well as select websites.

Graphics should not be any larger than 6 inches wide by 9 inches tall. This will allow it to fit on a standard size sheet of printing paper. If you want a whole page like this, remember that it must be vertical and not horizontal or else it won't fit in the book. Anything smaller than this is fine, as long as it's not too small. Just use common sense.

I cannot stress enough the fact that Internet slang will not be accepted. If your submission has this in it, it will be discarded immediately. Please spell check!

Pictures, artwork, graphics and formatted letters (in Microsoft Word) can be submitted as attachments, or you can include a URL if you have uploaded it to your own webspace.

Submit

the biggest pretend

Okay, I do not have an actual submission form because I think it's easier and more personal to do tihs through e-mail. Please send your submissions to Sarah@inthisskin.net, and include "I BELIEVE: The Birthday Book Submission" in the subject line, or I might not see it. You must include the following information as well:

  • Name
  • Age
  • E-mail Address
  • Website (optional)
  • Type of Submission (Letter, art, graphic, etc.)
  • How will you be submitting it? (e-mail, attachment, regular mail)
  • If you are submitting it through e-mail or attachment, please include your submission now.
  • Formatting (optional)
  • Other Comments (This will not be put into the book, this is just if you want to tell me something else)
